Caspar Schjelbred

Performer, Teacher & CO-Director

Caspar Schjelbred is a Danish-born performer and teacher working in improvisation, theatre, and performer training. Based in Copenhagen and active internationally, he has been part of the Paris improv scene since the early 2000s.

He began improvising in 2001 with The Improfessionals, the English-language improv company in Paris, and later served as artistic director from 2008 to 2014.

In 2010, Caspar founded Impro Supreme — a methodical approach to improvisation and stage practice built on the connection between body and imagination. His teaching focuses on presence, clarity of action, and repeatable training structures that develop reliability on stage.

Caspar holds a Master’s degree in the History of Science from the Sorbonne, where he specialised in theories of emotion — a background that informs his precise, observation-based approach to performance.

As co-director of Impro Academy Paris, he contributed to the development of the school and its pedagogy over more than a decade. Today, his involvement is limited while his work continues through teaching, workshops, and his online training programme Corps & imagination.
