Improv in English
Impro Academy is the international improv theatre school in Paris. It was established in 1999 and lead to the creation of Paris's first ever anglophone impro theatre company The Improfessionals (2001).
We offer weekly improv classes, as well as specialised one-off workshops, in both English and in French. Whether it's for stage purposes or just for your personal pleasure - anyone who wants to become a better improviser is welcome at the Impro Academy.

Comédie musicale improvisée en français (les cours de NEW) + Improv theatre in English : a great cocktail of scenes and songs, long and short. All improvised OF COURSE. The English students will perform in English, les élèves de nos cours de NEW en français. We will alternate scenes and songs.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
Improvisational theatre is more or less what it sounds like: drama and comedy created on the spur of the moment. It's a highly personal and challenging art form; the skills used in improv - or impro - are an essential asset to anyone, actor or non-actor.
Practise and develop the basics of improvisational theatre with us!
In central Paris.
We’ll build a solid foundation by exercising and developing the basic improvisation skills:
• Spontaneity - Acting on impulse
• Listening - Paying attention to your partner
• Accepting - Yes!
• Creativity - Using your imagination
• Energy - 3-2-1-GO!
And then use these skills to create theatre - drama and comedy. We'll practise:
• Collaborative storytelling - Improvising stories together
• Initiating scenes - How do you start?
• Scene development - What comes next?
• Physical theatre - How to be playful with my body?

Please note that our classes in English are designed to improve your improvisational theatre skills - NOT your language skills. It's not a problem if English is not your mother tongue. But you do need to be able to speak fluently.

After your trial class, you can subscribe for a whole improv class (Like all other theatre schools, we do not practice "pay as you go". Thanks for your understanding). If you join our school the middle of the semester since you just moved to Paris and you have a certain level of experience, we adapt the price of the remaining sessions of the semester.
